London Gypsies and Travellers and Tom Copley AM hosted the first ever event dedicated to Gypsies and Travellers in the London’s Living Room on 31st March 2017.
‘Gypsies and Travellers have been living and working in London for hundreds of years. They are active community members and contribute to the economic and social life of the neighbourhoods they live in. However, systematic public and institutional prejudice still prevent them from excelling in areas of employment, education, health and civic engagement. In a city for all Londoners, it is time to reassert that Gypsies and Travellers are Londoners too and explore opportunities to work together with decision makers and wider civil society to reframe messages and find positive solutions.’ Debby Kennett
The evening a was great success and the turn out was fantastic. We heard inspiring speeches from community memebers that challenged the Mayor and his future policies to include the community and we revealed our May 2017 Campaign….more coming soon!
